Perhaps no other concept that permeates the human mental world has been as distorted in our era as Respect. Talking about it is a particular challenge.

Humanity, over centuries of deprivation of discernment, came to understand Respect as a shield against any and all hallucinations of the human mind. Today, it has ceased to be a force linked to Order and has come to be understood as a simple movement to protect utopias, daydreams, and perversions—a mere instrument of defense of individual will at the expense of the collective.

Unlike moral principles, which are independent forces seeking to assert themselves in the world, Respect is merely a strategy for affirming the self. It has no energetic root of its own—it is an empty value that takes the form of the "I" that claims it. This is why it is so vulnerable to assumptions, perhaps the human idea most in need of discernment to avoid becoming a force of destruction. If Courage, devoid of discernment, fuels evil, Respect without discernment becomes a shield for every form of hallucination of the human mind. Through it, each group protects its narrative, and each ideology shields its delusion. It is, therefore, a parasitic value: it only survives attached to a larger moral structure—and dies, or becomes corrupted, when separated from it.

In the absence of discernment, Respect degenerates into a tool of manipulation—a safe-conduct for madness and anarchy. With discernment, on the contrary, it becomes the guardian of Reality: the energy that protects the common space and sustains Order.

Its influence was so great that it corrupted even the sacred. In Ephesians 6:5-7, for example, the apostle Paul commands slaves to "respect" their earthly masters as they would respect Christ, confusing submission with virtue. And, even today, the same mistake is repeated: groups and ideologies demand "respect" for their hallucinations, demand that dolls be treated as people, or that particular beliefs, wills, and desires become laws governing life in society.

Respect is the guarantor of Authenticity—the force that screams within the individual whenever their mental, physical, or emotional space is threatened. It is the energy that delimits the boundary between the self and the world. But it is important to recognize that such boundaries dissolve in the collective experience.

In Hexology, Respect is not understood as a moral principle—that is, it is not a driving force. It is a mediating value that arises from social coexistence: a value of restraint. It is humankind's natural effort to preserve Order in the presence of Humility. This is why it is impossible to be respectful without being humble. Only those who know the sweet taste of humility can flirt with respect. Those who speak of respect without knowing humility make the same mistake as those who try to cover the sun with a sieve or decorate the garden with plastic flowers.

True respect arises from the sincere attempt of discernment to balance Authenticity (self-expression) and Fraternity (welcoming others). Therefore, anyone who strives to impose their worldview is not striving for respect, but for dominance or acceptance. But could there be a greater delusion than imposing our own insanity on another or expecting them to accept our madness?

Respect is, therefore, a deformable mirror of the collective ego: it reflects, without question, the form imposed upon it. And, as it is not force, but convention, it does not resist manipulation.

Respect is not a force that moves human beings, but a social reflection of Order illuminated by Humility. It does not belong to the realm of principles, but to that of conventions—it is the pedagogical translation of harmony, not its cause.

The time for dignified bravery has come, the time to rise up and rescue sanity in the world. There is no longer room for defending stupidity disguised as "respect." The time has come to respect Respect itself. This means: we need to understand that Respect is an expression of the incredible human capacity for discernment — and that discernment is a sacred gift that must, indeed, be respected.

We must recognize that we cannot call “respect” the excessive and unseemly acceptance of any and all human ideas, especially those that seek only selfish perversion and the disruption of the natural order of things.

The time has come for discernment to break the illusion of disrespect and guide “political correctness” back to its original purpose: the reestablishment of Order.

May this then be a call to rescue the virtue of disrespect: the disrespect of the mother who limits the freedom of the rebel youth; the disrespect of the sun that wakes the rooster and awakens man to the need to work; the disrespect of time that never stops imposing itself upon us.

Because there is, in every form of true disrespect, a secret gesture of love for life — the reminder that the world only remains standing because some forces still dare to oppose madness.
